Os diplomas das profissões franciscanas de São Paulo, Santos e Coimbra: investigação sobre a circulação e as trocas imagéticas entre as irmandades terceiras

RESUMO: Entre os diversos documentos existentes no acervo documental da Venerável Ordem Terceira de São Francisco da Penitência da Cidade de São Paulo, destacam-se os diplomas de profissões do século XIX, bem como uma matriz litográfica com a estampa que compõe a figuração temática principal destes. Os estudos, em andamento, apontam para a relação iconográfica entre os diplomas de profissões feitos em São Paulo, Santos e Coimbra. Desta forma, buscamos investigar os padrões gráficos que circularam no século XIX e as trocas imagéticas entre as irmandades terceiras brasileiras, mais especificamente paulistas, e portuguesas até meados do XX. A fundamentação teórica traz em consideração os estudos entre arte e design de Christopher Frayling (1994), dos usos das imagens por Ernst H. Gombrich (2012), das questões escatológicas e dos documentos por Jacques Le Goff (2013) e da metodologia de pesquisa visual com ênfase em design gráfico desenvolvida por Ian Noble & Russell Bestley (2013).

ABSTRACT: Among the various existing documental collection in the Venerable Third Order of St. Francis of Penance of the City of São Paulo, we highlight the diplomas of professions nineteenth century, as well as an array with lithographic pattern that makes up the main theme of these figuration. Our study in progress, points to the iconographic relationship between the degrees of professions made ​​in São Paulo, Santos and Coimbra. Thus, we sought to investigate the graphic patterns that circulated in the nineteenth century and the Brazilian imagery exchanges between the 3rd order brotherhoods, specifically in São Paulo, and Portugal until the mid-twentieth. The theoretical framework brings into consideration the studies of art and design by Christopher Frayling (1994), the uses of images by Ernst H. Gombrich (2012), the eschatological issues and documents by Jacques Le Goff (2013) and the research methodology with an emphasis on graphic design developed by Ian Noble & Russell Bestley (2013).
